0:10.8	I'm Jensen Holt McNair and right now we're going through exodus.
0:14.0	Every year my church back home would put on a VBS and every year the sixth grader is
0:21.3	about to graduate out of the children's ministry got to build the
0:25.1	tabernacle.
0:27.1	Yes, it was very VBS of us.
0:30.4	I remember being so excited when it was my year to build it. We read passages about what was supposed to be in it and then we gave different people different jobs on what they got to assemble. I was on the team that made the concrete tablets of the Ten Commandments.
0:45.9	Amazing. And on the last day of VBS, all the younger kids got to come and take a tour of our tabernacle. Now of course our
0:55.8	tabernacle fit inside of one of the classrooms in my church and our tabernacle
1:00.4	was made out of what I assume was previous bedsheets and PVC piping that had been used for years.
1:06.5	All completed with the plywood arc of the covenant. It would not stand up next to the real thing, but it was really, really cool to a bunch of
1:17.6	VBS kids back in the day.
1:20.0	The thing is, I am assuming that most of you are not planning on building a replica of
1:25.9	the Tabernacle anytime soon, which makes chapters 25 through 30 in Exodus seem a little irrelevant to a modern audience.
1:36.7	It's almost six chapters of specific details on what materials to use, how big to make the
1:42.4	tabernacle, what thread you should use for the
1:44.6	priest's garments, and more. Which means sitting down to read these chapters can be tedious,
1:51.6	and at times a bit dull and yet despite its tedious detail there's
1:58.1	so much that we can take from these chapters in the ten minutes that we have today, we have to choose to take an overview of this passage.
2:08.0	And yet in doing so, I hope that you'll want to go back and read these chapters to study exactly what God calls the Israelize to do.
2:17.2	Because these sometimes tedious chapters actually point to some really incredible truths about who God is and what his ultimate plan for redemption is.
