Michelle Norris is the former host of NPR's All Things Considered.

And while there, she undertook an incredible project, the race card project, in which she asks people to tell a personal story on race in just six words.

After she left the radio network in 2015, Norris expanded the project.

What better way to honor Black History Month than revisiting an episode that reminds us that we all have a story on race.

So one of the reasons why I was a little late getting downstairs to greet you in the lobby

is that I was getting my tickets for Black Panther.

I have not seen it yet.

Oh, what?

I know. I know. I haven't seen it yet. But by the time this episode airs, I will have seen it. Oh, but we have to talk about it. Well, no, we're going to talk about it. Okay. And I want to get into it by asking you that should we be surprised by how wildly successful Black Panther is? No, no, we should not be surprised by this. I'm not surprised by it. I would be, I wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood is surprised by it. Yeah.

But we should not be surprised by it on several levels. It's an excellent film and people are going to see the film of all colors because

it's an excellent film.

It's a Marvel film.

So there's a built-in universe of people who really care about comic book characters and

care about the genre.

But beyond that, it is a film about agency and excellence at, I was going to say at a moment, but there's an

audience for that at any time, but especially right now.

I think there is a particular audience for this.
