The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints filed a lawsuit in April against “Mormon Stories Podcast” host John Dehlin, alleging trademark and copyright infringement. John DeLinn was one of the first people to embrace the podcast. Before they were everywhere, DeLinn had created one to talk about his church.

He called it Mormon Stories.

In those days, he was an active Latter-day Saint, but one who had started to doubt or at least have questions about all the things you can imagine in the Mormon story.

The church says it holds the trademark on Mormon, at least particular uses of it. In their statement, they say this is about brand confusion.

story. But John DeLind says it all started late last year.

Sometime in November, I remember receiving an email from Intellectual Reserve, the LDS Church's intellectual property arm that enforces all of its intellectual property.

So I get that email and it basically says, hey, we feel like you're violating our trademark
