I don't want us to forget about this Green Bay Packers defense being in year two with Jeff

Halfley.

I was going back and I was watching some of the things that they did on third down

last year, some of the ways that they got Rishon Gary free, some of the ways that they were able

to generate pressure with simulated pressures, the way they mixed coverages, the evolution

of this defense. They came into the year wanting to be a three deep four under, traditional

vision and break four three zone defense.

And they ended up having more similarities with a Brian Flores simulated pressure, non-traditional Tampa defense than with, say,

the Legion of Boom 4-3, cover three defenses that Pete Carroll ran and that really were the

the genesis of the Robert Sala, Jeff Halfley defenses in San Francisco.

And that speaks to a defensive coordinator who is able to take in trends, adjust on the fly, adjust
