Most of us are employees where W2 in the U.S. that's the tax code for an employee, meaning

you show up and typically it's employee at will where both the employee can quit at any

time for any reason and the employer can terminate it at any time for any reason.

But in sales, there's kind of this other category that nobody talks about because in sales,

you think you're an employee.

You are, legally you're an employee.

But you start to notice that you don't get treated like the other employees.

Now I noticed this when I first got into sales.

I went from being a kind of the pre-sales engineer type person before they called it that.

And then I worked my butt off to try and get into sales because I saw the cars that they

were driving, the income that they had.

Their base salary was my target salary.

So everything was gravey, I saw no downside until I got into it.

And I noticed that the people who used to really show me respect and take time out of their

day to see how I was and to talk to me now only talked about deals, only talked about

There was no concern about me as a human being anymore.

And then I kind of hit me, I'm in sales now.
