I'm always interested to talk to people who are running for office or who are in office

about why it's important for them to give service back to the country.

What are their motivations?

I remember someone asked me once, why would you want to run for office? There are three reasons. Power,

popularity, or service. And to me, it's always been about service, but I realize I'm a little

polyana in that respect. Let's ask Wesley Hunt. He's given me permission to call him Wes.

So that's what we'll call him. He's running for Congress down in Texas. Sir, thank you very much for

Thank you so much. Well, tell me what your motivation is in running for Congress in Texas.

I can tell you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it's the latter. It's the third one. It's the service piece of

this that's really kind of drawn me to serve my country yet again. And just kind of give you a bit of a background on how I got here. And I think a lot of people do ask that question, especially given the divided times that we have right now and how crazy Washington seems, why would you be doing this right now? And really at this point, the only answer is service.
