Summary

Why Who You Surround Yourself With Will Make—or Break—Your Life In this mashup episode, I sit down with my brother Andy Frisella to unpack one of the most powerful truths about success: your environment dictates your elevation. Who you allow into your circle will determine how far you go, how big you dream, and how much you grow. If you’re serious about reaching the next level in your life, this conversation is going to hit home. Andy brings his raw, no-excuses approach to growth, and together we break down why surrounding yourself with the right people is the ultimate game-changer. From business to relationships to personal development, we dive into how your inner circle can either fuel your vision or drain it. Andy shares the hard lessons he’s learned about cutting ties with negativity, choosing mentors who stretch you, and building a tribe that forces you to elevate instead of settle. This episode isn’t just about “networking.” It’s about choosing proximity on purpose. It’s about realizing that average environments create average outcomes—and if you want an extraordinary life, you need extraordinary people around you. Andy and I reveal how to identify who belongs in your circle, who doesn’t, and the kind of habits and standards that keep your group sharp, hungry, and aligned with greatness. I want you to finish this episode with clarity and conviction about the company you keep. Because if you want to change your life, the fastest and most effective way is to change your circle. Who you surround yourself with will either multiply your growth—or keep you stuck. Key Takeaways: - Why your environment is the ultimate predictor of success - Andy Frisella’s no-excuses method for cutting out toxic relationships - How to build a circle of influence that challenges and elevates you - The difference between real mentors and fake supporters - Why average environments create average outcomes - How to intentionally design proximity that pulls you toward greatness This conversation will challenge you to audit your circle—and make the bold decisions that will change everything about your future. 👉 SUBSCRIBE TO ED'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL NOW 👈   → → → CONNECT WITH ED MYLETT ON SOCIAL MEDIA: ← ← ←  ➡️ INSTAGRAM   ➡️FACEBOOK   ➡️ LINKEDIN   ➡️ X   ➡️ WEBSITE  Learn more about your ad choices. Before we get started, I just want to remind you of something, my friend, and that is this. You were born to do something great with your life. I just had that on my heart today before we get going. I just feel like maybe there's an awful lot of you during this time right now that wonder whether that's true. And maybe you need to be reminded of it. Maybe you're not even sure how you're going to do it again. And I'm here to help you with all of that. But I just want to begin by telling you, you're special. You were born to do something awesome with your life in big ways and in small ways. And that's the whole purpose of this show is for me to help you max out your life. And so you're stuck with me this week. If you listen to the show or watch the show for a long time, you know, God, if you're old school, it used to be that every other week I would do a lesson, teach on something like spirituality, fitness, life strategy, influence, relationships, whatever it might be. Then the next week I have a guest on that's an expert that's maxed out a particular area of their life. Well, recently, the last eight months to a year, I've mainly done

0:55.5

interviews with experts in different fields, but I had an experience myself yesterday that I've just

1:00.2

felt compelled to share with all my brothers and sisters out there that I think might make a

1:04.6

difference in your life, might change your life like it changed mine. And so I'm so glad

1:08.5

you decided to join me again this week, but I didn't want to start without telling you from my heart. I love you. I believe in you. And so I'm so glad you decided to join me again this week. But I didn't want to

1:10.8

start without Tony. You're from my heart. I love you. I believe in you. And greatness is coming your way. I know that. And I do this show not just to inspire you and to motivate you, but as many of you know, to give you the tactics and the strategies and the tools to make that a reality in your life. And so today I'm going to give you another one.

1:29.2

And I want you to write this down if you can, if you're YouTube or you're not driving your car right now.

1:33.6

And that is this. Today's theme is very simple. Diversity is the pathway to richness. Diversity is

1:40.6

the pathway to richness. And I mean diversity in two forms, the people in your life and the

1:46.0

experiences of your life. And without that diversity, I'm so concerned in our culture today that I see

1:51.7

it's become more and more tribal, less and less diverse, both in our friendships and our relations.

1:56.5

We don't talk to each other. We talk at each other. And more and more, we hang around people

2:00.5

just like us,

2:01.4

don't we? And they kind of reinforce our beliefs and our way of living and we just kind of

2:07.5

go in this circle. It feels good. It's like eating cake. It feels really good, but it doesn't

2:11.6

grow us. And then the second thing is the lack of diverse experiences that we're giving our

2:16.9

self access to. And so I looked up

2:19.1

diversity, by the way, in the dictionary, and basically it means variety. We've all heard the

2:23.9

saying that variety is the spice of life. And I know during this time with COVID and the global

2:28.9

pandemic and high unemployment and political polarization and all the things that are happening.

2:34.8

Most people say, hey, life ain't so spicy right now.

2:37.4

And I want to bring some spice back to your life and you can do it for free on no budget.
