On the campaign trail, President Trump made two big economic promises. He promised, one, that he would stop inflation in its tracks.

And two, he promised massive tariffs on countries he thought were treating us unfairly.

When foreign leaders and CEOs call me up to complain about our tariffs, my answer would be

very simple. Build it in America. Economists say there's a problem, though. You can't have both. Tariffs don't make prices go down.

They make prices go up. So when push comes to shove, they asked, which of these priorities would he choose?

While Trump has paused some big tariffs on North American car parts on some products from Mexico, others have gone into effect

recently.

Q worries of higher prices, reduced trade, and just a prolonged dip in American economic

activity, which there's a word for, by the way, that's called a recession.
