0:00.0	Good day and welcome to Pints with Aquinas. My name is Matt Frad and today I'll be speaking with Catholic apologists and radio host Pat Madrid about Solar Scriptura. We'll be talking about what that is, why it's false, how to understand what Catholic means. Catholic's been by tradition. At the end of this interview after we got off Skype, Pat said to me,
0:21.8	wow, that was a very lively debate. And I think he said that for two reasons. Number one,
0:25.2	I really tried my best to get us to not straw man what our Protestant brothers and sisters
0:31.4	believe about Soliscriptura. So whenever he would make a point, I would try to see a flaw in it and expose it and try and push back
0:41.0	on everything he said. I would love it if you're a Protestant viewer. I would hope that
0:46.0	you would watch this and say, okay, thank you. Like you weren't just, because nobody likes
0:49.2	their position straw man. And so I was doing my best to sort of ask him difficult questions. Then we talked about a
0:55.6	debate that he did many years ago with a Protestant apologist James White. Now on this YouTube
1:01.4	channel, recently we posted that full debate on Solar Scriptura and I accused Pat in this interview
1:08.6	of being unnecessarily prickly, and he responds to that,
1:11.9	so you're not going to want to miss that.
1:13.4	But if you want to understand what the Catholic Church teaches about scripture and tradition,
1:19.8	if you want to know the difference between what is meant by material sufficiency and formal
1:23.8	sufficiency of scripture, if you want to know how to respond to Protestant claims that the
1:29.5	Bible is the sole authority for the Christian when it comes to beliefs and how to live, this is
1:36.0	the show for you. And I think you're going to really enjoy it. And I would just ask that you would
1:39.8	do your best to try and watch the whole thing because it doesn't decrease in interest.
