Hi there, welcome to the What Bit coin did podcast.

I've just got back from New York today.

I was over for consensus. I didn't go to the conference itself

because I was doing interviews every day but I did get to meet up with a bunch of

people I've spoke to on Twitter before which was pretty cool. Pretty jet lag though so I'm going to keep

this intro as short as possible. Firstly I do want to say a big thank you for all

the feedback I received for my interview last week with Roger Veer.

I know it was a little bit controversial for some people, but it was really good to get feedback

from people, the dms I received, the comments on YouTube, you know, overwhelmingly I think

it was positive, you know, with naturally some negative ones.

To balance it this week I've got an interview with Chief Strategy Officer from Block Stream,

Sampson Mao, most of you would have heard of him.

He sat opposite Roger at the

economy conference where they debated scaling, so I thought this would be a good

counterbalance for the interview with Roger. Did a bunch of research, I've been looking at Lightning Network. You know, it takes a bit of time for me to get my head around these things and I probably don't fully understand it. I also interviewed Jameson when I was in New York to discuss it further but there are things I'm starting to

get my head around. I have kind of on a personal level come to the conclusion that we do need

off-chain scaling options on-chain alone won't work that was something Roger actually

agreed with in the interview that I did with him so I have been taking a look at

lightning network and it does seem exciting but I do have a few things I'm not

sure about and I cover these with Samson. Firstly and my main issue is that if

lightning is successful and you know loads of people use it
