Hi folks and welcome to another five minute Friday here on meaningful money.

So I'm outside again.

First time in a very long time I've done a video outside but you know what it's good to

mix things up now and again and I've left behind the comfort and controlled

conditions of my office and come out and I'm actually don't tell anybody I'm in a graveyard, but you don't want to know what the camera's resting on.

Shall we just say that?

So I had an email from a listener called Finn, and Finn had a question on one-off fees for financial advice.

Ow!

Just had a wasp or something, go straight into my ear.

Didn't sting me, just a little bit unpleasant.

So one-off advice and fees for that payable to a financial advisor.

Now when I emailed Finn back I told him that there's not many advisors will do that.

There's not that many advisors will give you a piece of advice one-off without taking on

control of assets in other words taking your money onto their systems for two

quotes look after and obviously get paid on on an ongoing basis.

So Finn is going to find it difficult to find an advisor who will advise him on a one-off basis

without taking on his assets. You know what? I just remember this is meant to be five minute

Friday and I haven't put any time on the clock. So let's call it four minutes from

now. Shall we? I'll put that down here in the little bottom right hand side of

my graveyard venue here and we'll just pick it up from there.

So Finn will find it hard to find an advisor who will give him a single piece of advice and

not take on assets and the management.
