I've been watching the guy that I've said before I would consider to be close enough to call him a friend Luis and Enrique Martinez and his initially

triumphant march with Paris and Germain to the final and then their thumping defeat by Chelsea

plus the way that the final ended up in a 10 versus 11 which I never sent off and then several players in both

benches having a little dig at one another. It seemed an inglorious end to what I still

consider to be a disgusting tournament and And I use that word advisedly.

This was the final win.

The referees couldn't get into the stadium because all the exits and entrances were shut down

because that despicable man, Donald Trump, was arriving at the stadium.

This is a tournament that allowed a despicable man. President of the United States are not. man Donald Trump was arriving at the stadium.

This is a tournament that allowed a despicable man,

president of the United States or not,

to be on the podium when Chelsea were celebrating their victory.

He wouldn't come off.

Even his little puppet, Johnny Infantino,

couldn't coax him off the winner's stand.

These iconic stains on a tournament which shouldn't exist stand to my mind for the way in which this is a stain on the football calendar.

This is the tournament that no television station in the world was willing to bid good money for, indeed any money for. During the summer, not only should players be resting, but there's a plethora of sports taking place where it allows spectators and participants alike

in the football world to have a break.

It allows spectators either to get outdoors

in some parts of the world

and actually practice sport a little bit more,
