Well, thank you for joining me today on enjoying everyday life where we teach the Word of God.

It's the truth, the only truth that we really have.

And it's the only way that we can truly enjoy our lives.

You might have fun doing some other things, but then the fun leaves when the thing leaves.

But if you have joy, then that comes from deep within you, and you can have that.

The Bible says joy unspeakable and full of glory, so you can be happy when it makes no sense at all to be that way.

God hears our prayers, and if they're according to his will, he answers them.

That just, when you think about it, that's just truly amazing.

And so today I want to start talking about reasons why prayer is not answered,

because sometimes it's not answered, and there are some pretty simple reasons why not. There's some that are a little more complicated, not there's some that are a little more

complicated but there's some that are just simple so we we're going to start with prayer is not

answered when people don't pray and you know it's pretty amazing how many times we do try to do things ourselves on our own.

Bible calls it works of the flesh.

It's our energy trying to do what only God can do.

And we wear ourselves out and wear ourselves out.

And there's an answer in James 4, too, that was actually really truly life-changing for me

because I was one of those people that I wasn't that I was trying to ignore God.

I just was trying to get the job done.

And I would hear maybe in a sermon at church what I was supposed to be doing,
