| 0:37.1 | encourage you to set out and go deeper in prayer. Now why would we want to spend more time in prayer? Well the |
| 0:49.0 | ultimate reason why we do anything is for the sake of some good thing we need to be happy and God |
| 0:55.6 | designed our human nature to need many good things. We need nutrition, safe place to |
| 1:01.7 | live, friendships, knowledge, meaningful work, and achievement, beauty, and so on. |
| 1:07.1 | But even if we had every earthly thing our human nature needed, we would still not be satisfied because we were made for |
| 1:16.3 | union with God. Only God is the infinite perfect and everlasting fulfillment of all our good desires. |
| 1:25.0 | Therefore, God alone satisfies. |
| 1:29.0 | And even if we lack one of the earthly things we need, like good health or a good relationship, or work |
| 1:36.8 | that really suits you, or work at all, God, who is the source of all that is good can supply for what you lack. He can fill us with |
| 1:46.3 | himself so that we can we can be full of joy even when we lack certain good things. |
| 1:54.0 | And God wants to give himself to us, especially in the Eucharist, |
| 1:58.0 | but we must open the doors of our soul to receive him. |

| 2:06.0 | prayer is the self-opening of the human spirit to God. |
| 2:11.0 | So why would we want to pray or go deeper in prayer? Because we want to be happy and |
