So let's talk about why people shrink as the age, especially women.

0:27.0

Why is that and what can we do to prevent that?

0:31.3

You don't want to wait until your two to three inches or four inches shorter and try to reverse

0:36.1

that. It's too late. So we want to act now. So a person potentially could lose a quarter to

0:43.2

a half an inch every decade after 40. So by the time they're 70 or 80 they're actually two or three

0:50.0

inches shorter. Why is that and what can we do to prevent that? We're getting a loss of the

0:55.8

disc space between the vertebrae and we're also getting a loss of the vertebrae itself.

1:00.0

So one of the big myths out there is that people think that they can grow a bone by drinking more

1:03.7

milk. Well cows and horses have these huge legs. They're solid. They're supporting a very large

1:12.7

animal and they don't drink milk after six months. They actually are eating grass. So there is no

1:37.2

They increase their risk of getting heart attacks. I did a separate video on that. You can check

1:42.0

it out. But when we talk about minerals we're only talking about one little piece of the puzzle.

1:47.7

You need other minerals. You need vitamins. You especially need magnesium and this trace

1:52.8

mineral called boron. Boron is really, really essential to help prevent osteopenia and osteoporosis.

2:00.7

Okay, so get your calcium. You can get that from leafy greens and maybe a little high quality

2:05.6

organic grass fed dairy. Okay, number two, vitamin D3 and K2. These are fat-civil vitamins. These

2:13.7

are really important in mobilizing and transporting not just calcium but magnesium as well. So

2:22.8

vitamin D helps the absorption of calcium from the small intestine by 20 times. But K2

2:28.6

drives that calcium from the blood into the bone. So vitamin K2 as compared to K1
