It's been the scuttle butt on social media all week.

The real NFL trends and how that's leading to passing numbers being down and points

being down and how much of that is really going to stick and matter is in question. Certainly,

I think there's this part of the early season stuff that we need to consider that, you know, that's a 17 game season now and there's less padded practices in the offseason and three preseason games and that some of it's just an extension of the off season a little bit. But there's definitely a conversation here about the ways the defenses are playing and the ways that offenses are responding. And we've talked about it on the show for a number of years now frankly i think we

were way ahead of of the conversation on this one personally um i know we were talking a little bit

before the show about the tight ends and how some of these bigger formations are leading to some of the

explosive pass plays the saints have been doing apparently a lot of multi tight end formations

and then running formations and then

running effectively and then using the run game to then design a lot of play action. Derek

Carr is leading the NFL and past attempts off play action and you're getting fewer receivers

out into the route, but you're really selling the run game as part of that. That idea of multi-tight-end

formations is also something that we saw in Arizona

this week, but I saw from Mina Kimes, both of Marvin Harrison's big plays came out of, I believe,

12 or 13, maybe both were in 13 personnel, which is three tight ends on the field. I think they
