| 0:00.0 | Hey, what's going on guys? Welcome back to Jeremy Scott Finnish podcast and radio show coming to you hot today on a very heavily requested podcast. |
| 0:09.6 | And honestly, one of the biggest questions we get from people all the time on meal plans. |
| 0:14.0 | And, you know, do we make meal plans? Will we make meal plans for them? |
| 0:17.9 | And I'm going to answer to you, no, we don't do meal plans in the way that you guys are thinking about it, especially if you're a fitness professional, you probably get this. If you're, you know, the end consumer, someone looking for that. I'm going to dig into this. I don't know what we title this podcast. I'm trying to think of the infographic. Either why I don't make meal plans or why a meal plans suck or some combination of the two. |
| 0:39.4 | Obviously, you can tell where this podcast is going just by the title alone. |
| 0:42.5 | But again, you guys, one of the biggest questions we probably get asked either before or after somebody signs up for the program. |
| 0:49.2 | That is, is, you know, do I get a meal plan or when do I get a meal plan? |
| 0:52.7 | And the answer is, no, we don't do |
| 0:54.5 | meal plans in the way that you guys are thinking of it because, frankly, they suck shit. |
| 1:00.0 | And they don't work. If I had to guess over the years, I would say the failure rate of meal |
| 1:05.2 | plans is probably like 99% for most people. Now, there's certain contexts where like the 1% |
| 1:10.5 | does work and something is going to pan out for people. But more there's certain contexts where like the 1% does work and something |
| 1:11.6 | is going to pan out for people. But more often than not, it doesn't solve the problem. And that's |
| 1:16.1 | why we don't do it. Now, admittedly, if you would have called me probably, man, even before that, |
| 1:21.9 | 10 years ago, 11 years ago, 12 years ago, somewhere in there, we probably would have gave you a meal |
| 1:26.8 | plan and prescribed it for you. |
| 1:27.9 | But that was before I had worked with, you know, thousands of humans and seeing the behaviors, |
| 1:33.8 | the patterns, and the rituals that they go through every single day. And I think that's the key. |
| 1:39.0 | Because for most people, it's just a bandit on a gunshot wound essentially. And that's what I'm saying to you is it teaches you to do something, but it doesn't change the habit and the pattern. It doesn't teach you a lifestyle. And that's why I don't think they're ideal. Now, I'm trying to pull up my show notes here. And like, you know, typically what will happen is people will get a meal plan and they'll get samples. Now, we prescribe some of these. Like we have a cookbook that was the best seller on Amazon, which people went through and bought and we put some prescriptions in there, kind of like a carb cycling template, if you will. But essentially every meal plan looks the same. I mean, they're different, but they're very similar. Like if the macros fit, sure, but it's the same shit, whether someone's |
| 2:17.8 | prescribing, you know, three meals a day, two meals a day, five meals a day. So for example, we give you, |
| 2:22.1 | you know, someone, you know, goes on there and get their meal plan, it's breakfast. It's a veggie omelet with, you know, all the normal stuff, whether it'd be eggs, egg whites, maybe a little bit of cheese, some guacamole, spinach, whatever. And then the snack is like, you know, cashews and |
| 2:17.6 | walnuts, maybe an apple, some shit. And then it goes to, I'm going to have a chicken |
