Marin County is known as the birthplace of modern mountain biking, and it has long had a robust cycling culture, but over the last few years, e-bikes that can go up to 50 miles an hour

have surged in popularity, especially with young people.

That's led to a rise in serious bike accidents among young riders,

which has prompted county officials to ban anyone under 16 from riding the fastest e-bikes.
