There was so much reaction to Sonny Jurgensen's passing on Friday.

And, you know, it happened while we were on the air.

And it was nice to get a chance to take some calls, but it was even nicer to hear from Joe and to hear from so many different people who came on.

Ernie Bauer came on my podcast later that day.

Ernie was a close friend of Sonny's.

So many of you followed up.

I mean, I spent some time on Saturday just going through a lot of the emails and a lot

of the tweets that you set because, you know, this for a certain age of, you know, Skins fan,

this hit hard. I got this from Daniel. Daniel wrote, we both lived the same Sunny experience,

Kevin. Thanks for remembering him the way you did. I think you missed something, though.

Sunny still holds the record for touchdowns in a season for our team.

You mentioned the Eagles record, but didn't mention the record he holds for our team.

No quarterback, including your guy, Cousins, has ever thrown more than Sonny's 31 in 1967.

I knew that. I think what I did, you know, as we were sitting here on the air and even after the show,

one of the things that I don't think I had ever spent a lot of time looking at was his Philadelphia career,

which, you know,

Eagles fans loved Sunny too. They didn't want Sunny to be traded. There are people in Philadelphia

that revered Sunny of a certain age and got the same kind of experience. Sunny's first year

starting in 61 in Philadelphia, he set the NFL record for

yards passing in a season. Now, it was the first year of a 14-game schedule. They had played

12 previous to that. He tied the NFL record with 32 touchdown passes, and I did emphasize
