This is the rotunda of the capital of the United States.

From my perspective, this is the most beautiful building in our country.

It is a staggering place to walk into.

A place that is the citadel of our democracy built by slaves

that tells the whole unfolding story of America's civilization in the advancements of human dignity and human freedom.

This is as sacred a space as there is in this country.

It is a place that deserves to be honored and deserves to be respected.

It is a place where any true patriot who walks into it is awed,

awed by the achievements, humbled by the failures of our ancestors.

It's a place that inspires commitment,

commitment to do better, to build, to create, to strengthen, to make our democracy stronger and more just as we hand it down to our children and their

children and on down from that. Within sacred spaces, we require elementary decorum. And decorum is appropriate in places like the United States

House of Representatives and the floor of the United States Senate. Chuck Schumer in this climate has made a decision

when the institution is under threat from a tax on its dignity and its decorum,

from insurrectionists who wait outside the gates waiting to storm the capital again

to dismantle the United States government in the service of our first dictator Donald Trump.

In this environment, when trust has collapsed between the American people and very nearly every institution you can think to name, it was Chuck Schumer who decided now was the moment to get rid of the Senate's dress code to allow for this presiding over the United States Senate.

Let me be clear about something.

This is a disgrace and it is terrible, terrible politics.

Let's understand something, and I'll go through this very slowly, so Chuck Schumer, should he see this, can understand it.

Who exactly is it within the Republican Party, who might be the people who are most vulnerable

to leaving the Republican Party in voting maybe for the first time in their lives
