Summary

An analysis of several statements of Jesus which are taken, by some, to mean that Jesus was supposed to return within the first century. I think that you will find a verse-by-verse study of those passages to be extremely helpful in understanding what Jesus meant by “this generation” and what delay He implied before His second coming.

1:07.0	Awesome, praise the Lord. Okay, so this issue we're going to dig into today is really interesting. It actually stems from a few statements of Jesus where he makes these statements about the future, about his second coming and taken by themselves people say Jesus failed he said he was coming
1:26.7	and he didn't he didn't come so let me read to you some of those statements here in mark
1:30.0	1330 Jesus says truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
1:37.0	Then in Luke 21-32, he says, truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken
1:44.6	place. In Matthew 1023 it says when they persecute you in one town flee to the
1:50.7	next for truly I say to you you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel
1:54.1	before the son of man comes."
1:56.4	And so some say, well, then the second coming of Jesus was supposed to happen in a very
