talk about that talk about Brandon Williams I want to talk about him for a little bit the mabs did try a lot in this game marvin bagel looks good natchie marshall had a good game clay thompson came back like all the maps are doing things well let's start here because the dallas mavericks are trying to win they're trying to win games for as much as we've talked about tanking for much as much as the nba talked about tanking, for as much as Adam Silver has fine teams for tanking, Rick Carlis complained about the fines about the complaining about tanking, like everything that has been said about tanking. All the logic that says the Mavericks should be losing games. The Mavericks should be going out there and trying to throw these games because you only control this pick.

And the next four years after this, you don't control any of those picks.

Or all that's been said about that, the players are going to go out there and try and win.

So you can't fault the players in any way.

The coach probably has to go out there and try to win unless he's going to be the GM.

Like I think this whole thing takes away the Jason Kidd is the shadowed GM, at least in my opinion. Because if he was the shadow GM, wouldn't he be tanking, especially the games with Cooper Flagg's not playing? Wouldn't he be trying to lose these games? But they're going out there and they're trying to win. And the only way that it would happen that the Mavericks would try to lose is if it came from on high,

which is what happened with the Jazz, happened with the Pacers, happened with all these teams that have tanked or have at least tried. And these are smart teams, the Jazz, the Pacers, like these are teams in small markets that have built, like, you know, really good playoff teams in the past. These are smart teams that are doing this because they know it's a loophole.

It's a way to get better.

And the Mavs are not doing it.

They've lost enough on their own volition to be in this spot right now.

But I talked about the stakes on the show yesterday.

If they fall to 9th, 10th, like the odds of them getting a really, really good player go way, way down at that spot.

And I just don't know what you gain from some of these, from some of these games playing Tashi Marshall all these minutes, playing, honestly, PJ Washington and Chris Middleton, where they go out and they get injured, especially in a game where it's a short, you know,

short travel day because they're traveling day of, that weird thing with the snowstorm, the Nets travel day of too, like all that. I just don't know what you gain from these games. We'll talk about some of the individual player things, but I just feel like they're missing the point of the end of the season a little bit. And I know it's against the Nets, and they've lost, they've, they've beat two bottom three teams.

So why am I so frustrated about it?

But I kind of am. Yeah, I mean, it's, like you said, it's that, the decision makers of the organization have to be the one who decide to tank. It's not the players. And it really isn't the coach either, although, you know, the coach usually has to be in lockstep. And yeah, I do agree.
