Three minutes after ten is the time. I sometimes say that this program is as much yours as mine,

but that is a little facetious, isn't it? Because if I stop talking now,

what the heck is going to happen? You see? So it is more my program than yours, but without you,

it would be, there would be nothing. There would be no show. The idea of me coming on air at 10 o'clock

in the morning and giving it three hours straight is, uh, well,

extraordinary.

Occasionally quite tempting, depending on what the news agenda has to say, but I have to tell

you that today, and it won't be a topic, but it arrived in my inbox at two minutes after

10 and I find myself, got sort of stopped in my tracks a bit by Lorraine's text. I'll just read it to you

and then we'll crack on with the show proper. Maybe if the media spoke about the dead asylum seekers

coming in the small boats in the same way that they are reporting on the yacht disaster,

the attitude of the public would be more compassionate. Every life, she concludes, is equal.
