So when the White Sox acquired Yuan Moncada from the Red Sox in the Chris Sale trade in 2016 and later signed him

to that five-year $70 million contract extension. They and we were expecting

Moncada to be a star for many years to come. But instead, there's been a huge gap between the

expectations for Moncada and the Mankata reality.

And with the White Sox holding a $25 million club option for 2025, he'll likely become a free agent

after this season. So what can we expect for Mankata in 2024? Will he have another injury

plague season like the last two or will he stay24. Will he have another injury-plagued season like the last two, or will he stay healthy?

Will he continue to frustrate, annoy, and let down a good portion of the fan base?

Or will he finally be the Yoan Mancada we saw in 2019 that has all the tools to be one of the

best players in the game?
