and why it matters. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine sent me a link to an article that suggested

that some of the clothing I wear might be full of

toxic chemicals. At first glance, I didn't give it much thought. But as I read on, I started to realize

that this was an investigative report that was done by a pretty reputable company. And it really

called out some of the brands that make up actually

probably the majority of my clothing. And so I started to wonder, if there are toxic chemicals

in our clothing, would we know? And could they actually affect us? Could they get through our

skin's barrier and actually make us sick? So I was excited to hear about a new book by

Alden Wicker called To Die For, How Toxic Fashion is Making a Sick and How We Can Fight

Back. She's an award-winning journalist and a sustainable fashion expert. She's the founder

and editor-in-chief of the website EcoCult.com, which has been very popular

and around for about 10 years.

And she's published investigative pieces for The New York Times, Vogue, and Wired.
