I'm delighted to be joined today by Father Robert Serico, who is President Emeritus of the

Acton Institute, and a good friend of Jimmy Lai.

Jimmy Lai is the British passport holder and Hong Kong businessman who on Monday was found guilty of seditious activities by the Chinese authorities,

and he may spend the rest of his life in prison.

It's quite a shocking and profound story with large geopolitical implications.

So, Father Robert, I just wonder if you could start by explain the story to us,

because it seems amazing to us, just reading about it now, that in Britain, he's a British

passport holder, as I said, his story appears to have gone by fairly unnoticed. America,

there is a campaign to raise awareness, which you're part of, but it's not perhaps at the level

one might expect. It's amazing. This was his verdict.

He's guilty.
