How are you doing all right.

I am doing about as well as a woman responsible for all of the gift giving of a family of six in the midst

of a holiday frenzy could be. And so it's a little bit of a time warp for listeners. We're

recording before Christmas and they're going to be listening in that really weird period

of time between Christmas and New Year's where you

literally, you don't know what day it is. I mean, like, it's literally all your eating. It's the lost

week. I call it the lost week. Yeah, it's like breeches and leftovers is all you've got.

It's just so power to you people. We're not there yet. Yeah, you're going to get through. It's the last week. I mean, there is beauty in it because it's like, it's out of time. You're just in this liminal space before the new year. No one's working. No one's using their brains. Everyone's got new things. It's great. It's great. Looking forward to that lost week. Same. But right now, I'm in the time period where you have to prepare for the last week. So I have to do double the work. That's what I'm doing. How about you?

Well, holiday-wise, I mean, you've known this for, I've long opted out. I don't, I'm not doing, I am doing nothing for, I'm not preparing any gifts. I'm not sending any cards. I have no decorations. I am just enjoying the season. And wow, that is a gift unto itself. But I'll be honest. And, you know, listeners, you know, again, this is out of time.

But it's been a rough week, but a hard week.

I would be, I would be remiss, especially considering the topic of our show to not say that Rob Reiner's passing has affected me deeply.

And it has really cast a shadow over over just already a terrible year and I just

I you know I've just been I'm not to make it about me but definitely been in relative shambles

about it and you know his films were so important to you know know, in particular our generation, though they, though they spanned generations.

I mean, the Princess Bride, who doesn't say that's their favorite movie?

It's a perfect, perfect, wholesome, smart, important, and timeless film.

And, you know, you just look at his canon and you look at who he was.

And it's just, it is a tragedy that has just left a really big hole in me.

And I know that, you know, it's part of being a human and we encounter tragedies and we grapple with them and we move on.

But this one's still pretty fresh.

And, you know, I don't want to bring the show down, but I did feel like it would be, it would be in a mission not to, not to give a shout out to him and his wife and, like, this family and what they've been through and just really honor the, the canon that he left us with. And I actually, you know, a few weeks ago, I booked tickets to

see when Harry met Sally on New Year's Eve. And I'm just, it's going to just have so much more meaning. I've never seen it in a theater because, you know, I was too young when it came out and, you know, where does it ever screen? And I saw it was screening and I have to see it on the big screen. And so I'm really looking forward to that as an honor to him and as a
