The guarantee is, as exactly as it says on the tin,

that you will know more by one o'clock today than you do now.

The way it works is this.

It's the radio equivalent of those eternally and enduringly popular radio newspaper features,

where a reader writes in with the question.

And then sometimes weeks later, another reader writes in with the question and then sometimes weeks later another reader writes in with the answer.

We move rather quicker here. This is, of course, the 21st century and you'll get an answer by 1 o'clock today.

There are two reasons why your call won't get on and they've already, I'm afraid, been invoked quite heavily in the opening bars of this week's mystery out.

Repetition. If you ask a question which we have either asked or answered or ideally both in recent memory,

then I'm afraid we won't revisit that territory. And dullness, an entirely subjective definition,

which is entirely in the ear of the producer. If we think your questions,

dull, we'll politely invite you to jog on.

And I'm afraid the management's decision is final on that.

If it's a question about motoring,

the chances are that it will be politely dismissed.

Don't get upset.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. Just try and think of a more interesting question for next week.
