The head of political and government investigations at the campaign against anti-Semitism

said the following words a few years ago.

Mr. Farage should immediately withdraw his deplorable comments

and apologize for them, or LBC, should relieve him of his duties. We await Mr. Farage's

urgent apology, and in the meantime, we will be asking Offcom to open an investigation. A spokesman

for the Board of Deputies of British Jews said Nigel Farage's clumsy use of use of the terms

Israel and Jewish lobby interchangeably and his reference to their power has crossed the line

into well-known anti-Semitic tropes.

Listen, I mentioned this partly to highlight the double standards that we deal with on a daily

basis, people queuing up to attack the Labour Party

today after some comments by their selected candidate in Rochdale that were grimly and irredeemably

similar to the comments that Nigel Farage made about the Jewish lobby in America a few years

ago. So I'm just highlighting the double standard's being deployed by the Tories,

who, of course, have made it clear that Mr. Farage is welcome not only at their conference,

but quite possibly in their party again, up to and including Rishi Sunak.

So a man accused of deploying anti-Semitic tropes by precisely the same bodies that have correctly

castigated the candidate in Rochdale for deploying anti-Semitic tropes. I mean, that's not a question

I can answer. You can ask people who get very exercised by one of these examples, but not by the other

to account for their apparent double standards, but I think it would be remiss of me to speculate.

And I think that Kirstama has done categorically the right thing.
