Kirstama has addressed that question of why he didn't appear to comfort Rachel Reeves yesterday.

And the answer, as anybody with a functioning cerebral cortex, would already have puzzled

out for themselves was that he didn't notice how distress she was.

As he says, it's a simple human common sense explanation.
