When Liz Trussie's Camacazi budget directly and immediately led to the gilt market crashing,

needing the Bank of England to intervene to buy up government bonds,

she might want us to cease and desist, but we won't cease and desist from telling the truth that they crashed the economy.

What about any of what you've just heard is defamatory? What about any of what you've just heard

is even wrong? Well, Liz Truss thinks that it is because she has sent a cease and desist letter to Kier Stama

suggesting that for saying that she crashed the economy in 2022, he and his ministers are libeling her.

For the avoidance of doubt, that is a legal threat. So today we're asking whether she's got a point, whether he's going to

stop, and whether this is really how we want politics to be waged in 2025. Welcome to the

the government borrowing markets, which is, although with important differences as well,

which we'll discuss, is a bit reminiscent of what happened with Liz Truss and the aftermath

of the mini budget in 2022.
