smiling behind the microphone i know it's hard to hear me smiling, but you can do it a little bit. I think it's because this is a really great week to do what I do. It's fun to report and write and talk about tech and media and those worlds combining in a week when Amazon buys MGM for $8.5 billion.

As you know, because you listen to this podcast, this is the first time that a big tech

company has gone out and bought a big media company. We've been waiting for this for years.

Now it's here. It's going to happen. Probably going to happen if they get regulatory approval.

I think they will. We'll find out. And I want to talk about it some more. So I brought in Jessica Tunkel, the excellent reporter from the information, who first broke the story about this pending deal last week.
