My guest today is Fawad Azadi, Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Tehran.

I caught up with him over Zoom from his home in the Iranian capital.

He was using a hotspot to make up for the lack of a solid internet connection, a byproduct of the war he's living through.

Professor Fwada Azadi, welcome to the take. It's good to have you. We're speaking on Monday,

March 16th, just hours after Iranian media reported yet another U.S. Israeli attack on a school.

This time it was a boy school in the city of Khomein. Although no

casualties were reported, it is another Iranian city on the list of one's U.S. and Israel,

U.S. and Israeli forces have been bombarding. Meanwhile, Iranian counterattacks are also continuing in the Gulf and in Israel.

But I want to get the view from where you are in the Iranian capital to Iran. Where are you? What are

you seeing? You know, I'm at home. We live in the middle of the city. We had an attack about an hour ago. Every three, four hours, we have a new round

of attacks. As you know, we have had a lot of civilian casualties, more than 1,400 people

so far, including 165 little girls when the school was hit on the first day of the attacks

with American Tomahawk missiles.

The schools closed on that day,

on the first day, my children were at the school.

So I went and it was a normal school day.

So I went to the school and picked them up.
