And I've heard so many stories of people experiencing sexual abuse because they don't talk about sex at all.

They don't really get the law involved. So you don't really know how often it happens.

Amish community, but ultimately left that community. So we're going to learn all about her

childhood and upbringing as Amish and why she chose to leave and what the transition out of

the Amish community was like. All right. And we've got the guests on the line. So thank you so

much for being on today. Thanks for having me. I am very excited about this episode. I'm one of, I feel like there's a lot of people out there who are just sort of maybe obsessed isn't

the right word, but very intrigued by the Amish community.

We get glimpses of it.

I don't know if a lot of people kind of fully understand it.

So can you just kind of define in your own words, I guess, what does being Amish mean?

What is the community, the religious component to it, I guess for your experience?

Okay.

I'll try to answer the best I can, but it's just being born into it, like for such a long time, you know nothing different.

And it's just, like, once you learn about the outside world, you just think everyone else is different.

Like, you just think your religion is the right thing.

And it's just all the rules and just all the guidelines you have to follow.

I don't know.

Like it feels,

it just feels like your own little world, I feel like.
