Welcome back to the Clutterbug Podcast.

Today we're talking about not only the different organizing styles,

but why I came up with the bugs that I did to represent

those different styles.

Actually this is a response to Joy. Joy is a long-time

subscriber and just a huge support that I have on the Clutterbug videos and the Facebook group and the podcast.

So she asked how did I come up with the different bugs to represent the different organizing

styles? So I was going to type out this big long thing

and I thought, why not make it a podcast?

Because there may be some other people out there

who are interested as well.

So if you're new to the podcast and you have no idea what I'm talking about. I used to be a complete

slob and I tried and failed multiple times to get organized. I tried, I bought the Freedom Filer. I tried following systems that I saw

on Pinterest or whatever back in the day. I was watching a lot of HD TV and trying to copy systems that I saw there and I

could never keep them up. I had no problem setting up the systems but I

just I wouldn't use them. I thought it was too lazy and eventually I stumbled upon a system that was less organized so I call it macro organizing.

Traditional organizing systems are really micro so they're detailed like a filing system or a

binder or something where you put things into smaller categories. For me, I just, I have AEDB brain, I was not going to take the time to sort things to put them away. I was going to toss it or leave it where it was. So I had to set up systems where I could literally toss my things back into a huge bin that was macro sorted, like bills instead of sorting all the bills into different category bills like one for electricity one for gas you're getting the idea

And so I thought I was some sort of organizing genius and I started helping friends and family after I got my own home organized and then through word of mouth I started working with clients and eventually I discovered that even my easy system didn't work for everyone and the traditional system also didn't work for those clients and I went back to that old thinking of
