consumers are struggling to keep up with rising auto and home insurance rates,

and many are being left with difficult choices to make, or shock to find that they can't buy or renew home or auto insurance policies at all.

Jean Egelsham, who covers insurance for the Wall Street Journal, reports that insurance premiums

have been outpacing inflation, which is saying a lot.

She has a recent story in the journal with the headline,

And yes, impossible, literally in some cases because insurers
