Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. It's during the first book and film, The Philosopher Stone,

that Harry is first introduced to the wizarding world, and upon his first discovery of this

magical realm, he's filled with both excitement and confusion. Harry, you're a wizard. I'm a what,

gasped Harry? This was a boy who had, for all his waking years, endured a

painfully dull and oppressive life at number four Privet Drive alongside the Dursleys.

And now suddenly, in a single moment, an entire magical world seems to be calling his name.

Potions, spells, magical creatures, magic ones, all of it.

And this sudden revelation of a hidden world offered not only a glimmer of hope, but also the

promise of a life far beyond the ordinary. And what does Harry go and do? Cast absolutely no

spells for the entire first film. I feel silly for not noticing it myself,

but it was recently brought to my attention that Harry Potter, the titular character of the

Harry Potter series and most importantly, magical wizard, doesn't cast a single spell for the

entire movie. No, really, Harry Potter, the boy who lived, Voldemort Slayer, doesn't cast anything.

But what about when he, and that time when they were, nope, nothing?

To be honest, when I was given this information, I couldn't believe it at first.

My mind immediately raced through the film at 20 times speed, trying to think of any and all instances

that Harry intentionally produced magic from the end of his wand. And I thought to myself,

surely there must be one. But in the end, the only things I could come up with were what I expect

most of you would think of as well, Harry's unintentional antics. And that's the important distinction that needs to be made here, that all of these spells

were unintentional.
