1:05.3	And so I thought I'd reach out to Axios' world editor Dave Lawler to catch us up quick
1:09.6	on all of this. Hey, Dave. Hi, Nyla. Let's start with France. Dave, on Friday,
1:14.9	France pulled their ambassadors from the US and Australia. This was after a fight over a
1:20.2	submarine deal. Can you tell us about this? Yes. So back in 2016, France signed what was
1:26.4	described as the deal of the century to supply submarines to Australia. This was a $60 billion
1:32.1	deal, which was quite significant for the French defense industry. Now all of a sudden,
1:37.1	you had Australia getting a better offer, basically, that they were going to be able to get
1:40.8	nuclear submarine technology from the US and the UK. And they decided to rip up this deal
1:46.4	with France in order to do that. And the kicker is that neither the US nor the Australians
1:51.5	informed France until they unveiled this. So this was quite a diplomatic incident. You know,
1:57.0	the Biden administration has been trying to put out statements about what a great ally
2:02.0	France is. They're trying to calm this situation down. The ambassadors are back in Paris for
