Summary

Ferrari heads to Monza after a disastrous weekend at Zandvoort in a season that just isn’t getting any better, so has time run out for a turnaround? And with Isack Hadjar grabbing headlines with his podium finish, is promotion to Red Bull Racing inevitable - or more importantly desirable? Edd Straw is joined by Ben Anderson and Glenn Freeman to discuss those topics, and answer more questions from listeners.

Glenn Freeman. Welcome to the Race F1 podcast presented by eBay, Glenn. We're going to Monza.

Once again, we're talking about Ferrari being disappointing. Yeah, it's been, it's quite good of them

1:08.5

to keep finding new ways to make this disappointing season newsworthy. I do have one question note. Do we know for certain that Charle-Claire has got himself off the sand dune and will be at Monza or as he's stuck in the middle of Zanvort forever? Well, we can find out by messaging that photographer's mobile phone that he was, that he borrowed for his seat on the dunes. So who knows? Yeah, maybe he's going to do

some more of that, Amonza. Who knows? But Ben, it's been the same old story, not just over the years,

I mean, Zanvort, they were two and a half tenths closer to pole than they were last year. But the problem is, McLaren have just moved the bar on absolutely massively. And I feel like both of those teams tried to do similar things, like go for the

2:00.8

title in the last year of the rules. McLaren did it right, moved everything along. And Ferrari

2:07.4

went, yeah, we're going to change our concept and do the same. And it just hasn't worked. They've

2:11.8

kind of got the same old problems. Can't develop the car properly, box themselves into a corner.

2:16.6

And now they're just basically stuck.

2:19.1

Yeah, it's difficult for them because in many ways, then, they're not doing terribly compared to,

2:25.2

say, Mercedes and Red Bull. It's just that Mercedes and Red Bull have at least managed to get

2:28.8

some wins on the board between them, whereas Ferrari's the one that's just not winning,

combined with the really, really high
