The Athletic. The race is on, and with Ferrari's World Championship hopes set to be extinguished for good in Austin this weekend,

we ask what went wrong for a season that promised so much,

and how big an opportunity the Scuderia really threw away. I'm Ed Stur and joining

me to answer those questions and more are Scott Mitchell Malm and Mark Hughes. Well, Scott, come to you

first. How are you doing? I think you did something very recently that's particularly pertinent to

this podcast in terms of who you've been speaking to. Yep, I've had an interview with Charles LeClair as we get into the final stages of the season.

So good chance to have a bit of a frank debrief of the Ferrari season in 2022 and his own performance.

And perhaps some of what he told me might inform some of the Ferrari season in 2022 and his own performance. And perhaps some of what he told me might inform some of what I unveil on this podcast.

This is one of those topics that we've touched on so many times in our race reviews, et cetera. But it's always quite interesting to do a deeper dive, isn't it, where you can try and pull all those threads together. Yeah, and at the stage of the season, you can get a much clearer pattern. You're such a much clearer sort of helicopter overview, can't you? And see, you can analyze the patterns rather than being just right in the moment.

So yeah, it's a good time to do this.

Exactly. And it also perhaps let us look ahead a little bit next season, because we're getting into that territory where we start thinking about 2023, especially now the driver's championship

has been sealed. And of course, the Constructors' Championship is, it's a foregone conclusion conclusion really, isn't it? But that's not technically been won yet by Red Bull, but I'm sure
