0:10.7	I was reminded recently that I've not completed the response that I started probably over a year ago to Michael Patton's 12 myths about Calvinism.
0:23.0	And I appreciate Michael Patton. I've responded to several of his broadcast that he does with Sam Storms and others there in the Oklahoma area.
0:28.4	I think these are well-intending good Calvinistic brothers. Obviously disagree over sociology. And I
0:34.5	wanted to complete this because I had done, I think there's about seven different programs I've done so far.
0:41.4	So I've done seven of the 12 of Michael's myths that he refers to.
0:46.1	And what these myths are is referring to things that people think about Calvinism that Michael Patton says just isn't true of Calvinism. And then I reply to
0:56.3	those things just to help you to see from our perspective why oftentimes these accusations
1:00.9	about Calvinists come up. And so I'm just trying to be fair to my Calvinistic friends. This is one of
1:05.8	the reasons I let them speak for themselves. I'll read their articles for you to see for yourself. I encourage
1:11.9	you to go to the original sources. I put links in the show note to the original sources for you to
1:16.5	go through those things. And where we're going to leave, we're going to pick up where we left off
1:20.9	on the last one. And this gets to point number seven, where the myth that he's addressing now is
1:26.9	Calvinism is not a belief that you should only
1:29.7	evangelize the elect. So what he is a Calvinist is saying is he's saying, we as Calvinist,
1:34.8	we think you should evangelize everyone. We don't want you to stop or to cease in being evangelistic
1:41.0	because you become a Calvinist. And so what he's trying to do is trying to say that just because somebody's a Calvinist
1:47.2	doesn't mean they're anti-evangelistic.
1:49.4	Because some people out there think that if somebody adopts five-point Calvinism,
1:53.6	then all of a sudden they're just going to stop being a missionary or stop being evangelistic.
1:57.6	And what Michael is rightly saying is that's not what we want you to do.
