Europe is starting to get serious about extremist violence and extremism in general.

I find this absolutely fascinating.

The largest political party right now in Germany is AFD, the alternative for

Deutschland, which is almost Nazi. I mean it's very very far. It's sort of like

MAGA right wing wing and the government wants to cut off their funding and they're

talking about reclassifying them as an extremist group which would have a big

impact on their ability to function as a political

party in Germany. In February the German government announced a 13-point plan

to quote use all instruments of rule of law to protect our democracy, which included freezing the bank

accounts of extremist organizations and cutting their access to funding

sources.

So, you know, we'll see where this goes.

An expert in security at the London School of Economics Joseph Downing said

extremist views, extreme political views are becoming more popular in part because of growing inequality

and an erosion of living standards across Europe.
