Why is one of the most successful creators leaving YouTube?

I'm taking a break from YouTube. For whatever reason, I haven't cracked the code on how to be a

YouTuber. And you know, I've actually never found a YouTuber who's figured it out. I need to step

back completely and give myself weeks, months, years if I need to. By the end of the episode,

we're actually going to pitch Emma on a way that we think

she could return to YouTube in a healthy way.

We're also going to suggest a change that we think YouTube should make to the platform.

So if you don't know who Emma Chamberlain is, we've spoken about her a lot on this show.

She's basically, in our eyes, like Seinfeld reimagined for YouTube.

What's the show about?

It's about nothing.

Seinfeld was a show about nothing.

Emma Chamberlain is essentially a show about nothing, but she's so entertaining.

I'm not going to shower, although I'm quite dirty.

Not in the mood to work out, so I'm not going to do that. You guys know what that means. The unbelievable thing about it is that

she posted for 55 straight months, averaged four videos a month during that time span of 2017 to

2021. I mean, that just to be clear, that's like one video a week. And her videos average five million

views per video during that run. That's incredible.

She went for four years.

And today, Emma is 20 years old. The channel has over 11 million subscribers and it's generated over

1.5 billion views. So she's like one of the most successful creators on the platform.

But as we've learned in her podcast, she struggled a lot internally.
