So the German elections happened over the weekend, you know,

intelligently they have their elections on Sundays, right? It's like, oh, we can't do that here,

that's just like, that makes too much sense. But, you know, they have their elections on Sundays,

and some interesting things. I just want to speak to this because I think if nothing else,

the coverage in this country of the German election

super emphasizes how poorly informed and educated both the American public and the American media

are about United States, about what liberal versus conservative or progressive versus

conservative means in the United States versus around the world.

First of all, you know, here's one little, now this is a non-binding referendum,

it didn't change anything, but it was the will of the people.

In Berlin, they had a vote on whether to buy from, at market rates, buy from

these giant real estate developers, hundreds of thousands of apartments in Berlin.

And instead of having them run on a for-profit basis where, you know, you get the highest rent you

possibly can out of them, which is driving up rent prices in Berlin and there's a real housing
