Why Does It Matter What I Believe?

Now here's another worldview.

It's summed up in the theme, whatever works for you.

In other words, it may not be my shtick, but if it works for you, fine. Doesn't matter if it's

right or wrong, doesn't matter if it hurts anybody or not. If it works for you, fine.

That great theologian, Sly Stone said, different strokes for different folks.

Now, in our multicultural world, in our pluralistic world, this one's a real popular view,

because nobody wants to say, well, what you're doing is not right.

The only thing that's wrong in our society today, a lot of people leave, is when you tell

somebody something's wrong, and then you're wrong.

And this idea of, well, whatever works for you, there's a word for that view of life.

That worldview is called pragmatism.

And pragmatism says, whatever works is what you do.

Well, there's a problem with that.
