Hey everyone, welcome to Ask the Pastor. I am Matt Love. I'm here with Pastor J.D. Greer. We are jumping back into our series. Why does it matter? We're not just answering the questions. Though you can't ask, if you ask Jada a question,

you're going to get the answer. So we know we're going to get the answer, but now we're

going to also make him tell us why do we even need the answer. So it's great. We're digging into

that deeper why behind these questions and these realities that we're talking about, they're really

important. But sometimes it's easy to not really think about, well, why is this so crucial to what we believe? And again, I think we have a great example of that.

We've hit on a couple of good ones. But again, something that I think if you've been in the church

or walking with God for a long time, you almost take for granted and don't think about why it would be important. You just kind of, it's just part of it. If you're not in the church or

you don't really know God, I haven't walked with God, you might look at it and be like, what in the

world is that all about? And why is this, why is this such a big deal? And so the question today

is, why does the virgin birth matter? Why is it so important that Jesus was born of a virgin? So we talked about sex last week.

We're talking about the opposite this week. How do we have a baby without having sex, JD? So

just unpack this. Why is this important value? Why is this important value? I'm trying to

draw some, you know, make some connections. Yeah, thanks. Yeah, there's a method to the madness.

You know, we actually covered this topic a little bit with Rebecca McLaughlin several years ago in an episode called How Could You Believe in the Virgin Birth?

And this is one of the Bible's miracles that when you really think about it is, I mean, it's so illogical that it does, I mean, it gives, it gives, it gives, it gives

full meaning to the word miracle. We believe God can do the impossible if we could believe Jesus was

born a virgin. If he did that, then he could do anything. In fact, when people say, well, how did this

happen? I'm like, look, if God could create the world out of nothing,

if Jesus could be born and a virgin, and if Jesus could raise from the dead,

I don't have any more questions about what he could have couldn't do.

Yes.

But so what, right?
