0:21.0	So why isn't it weird when God does it? Or maybe it's worse than weird, maybe
0:24.9	it's wrong. Is God an egot maniac? If you're not sure what I mean by God commanding us to
0:30.6	worship him, listen to Psalm 96. Here's verse 1.
0:34.3	Sing to the Lord a new song.
0:36.4	Sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord praise his name, proclaim his
0:41.0	salvation day after day, declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous
0:45.8	deeds among all peoples. Those are commands to praise and glorify God.
0:51.0	When God commands us to praise Him, what is it exactly that he wants?
0:55.2	We know that he's not after our words while our hearts wander off somewhere else.
0:59.5	Jesus rebukes the Pharisees because they worship him with their lips, but their hearts are far from him.
1:05.0	When God commands praise, he wants to engage our heart and our mind.
1:09.0	He's commanding us to fix the eyes of our heart on him and see him as he truly is.
1:14.4	And when we get a glimpse of even just part of God,
1:17.8	maybe it's his love or his power or his mercy or his grace,
1:22.2	well when we get a glimpse of even just a part of him we can't help
1:25.3	but express praise. The next section gives reasons why we should praise God.
1:30.8	Verse says for great is the Lord and most worthy of praise, he is to be feared above all
1:36.4	gods.
