Summary

Why does God allow hypocrites, fakes, and even wicked people to sit right inside the church? Wouldn’t it be better if He just cleaned house? In this episode, we walk through Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the weeds and uncover a surprising, humbling answer. You’ll see why God’s patience isn’t weakness, how premature judgment can destroy real faith, and what this means for the most difficult people in your life, and even your own heart. We also dive into thoughtful listener questions on sin, fear of the Lord, marriage preparation, America first, and navigating painful family relationships. This conversation will challenge how you see grace, justice, and mercy, and remind you why today is still the day of mercy. This is in Matthew chapter 13 and we call it the parable of the wheat and the

tears, or the wheat and the weeds. And he says that the kingdom of heaven is like a farmer who plants

some good seed in his field. And everything starts out right, everything's great, but while everybody is sleeping, an enemy sneaks in and field. And everything starts outright. Everything's great. But while everybody is sleeping,

1:13.0

an enemy sneaks in and plants weeds among the wheat and then sneaks away. Now, at first,

1:22.5

nobody can tell the difference. It's only when the plants start to grow that the problem becomes

1:28.1

obvious. And so the farmer's servants panic. They run to the owner of the field and they say,

1:33.3

sir, didn't you plant good seed in your field? Where did these weeds come from? And the farmer

1:39.3

wisely answers them and says, this is the work of an enemy. So the servants ask the question

1:47.7

that you and I have probably asked many times. Shouldn't we just pull out the weeds?

1:53.8

Shouldn't we get rid of the bad, the impostors? And then the farmer says something that surprises most of us. He says, no, let them

grow together until the harvest. So I want you to pause right there because this is exactly

2:12.6

where many of us struggle. I know that I have. We look around at churches.

We look at ministries.
