My name is Dr. Becky the Bell. I'm a registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology, and I work as a resident doctor based in Yorkshire.

I'm 35 years old, I'm from a working class background, and the first and only doctor in my family.

I support the resident doctor doctor strikes because all we're

asking for is for a fully qualified doctor to start on £23 an hour. Doctors have had the

worst pay erosion of any profession since 2008, being paid less than our assistance, and this,

despite skyrocketing tuition fees and debt, working through a pandemic

and competition for training jobs. Britain's junior doctors, resident doctors to give them their

proper title, are set to walkout for five days later this month. The British Medical Association has

announced a five-day walkout. Resident doctors, who used to be called

junior doctors, will go on strike from 7am on July the 25th across the NHS in England.
