I don't know about you. It's almost impossible to get dressed at the moment.

My vest-waring days aren't behind me, but I have, you know, a couple of top coats and some linen shirts and some cotton shirts.

I get dressed every morning and within half an hour of leaving the house, I'm thinking, oh, I've got it wrong again.

That will probably not be detaining us unduly this morning, the state of the weather, although it is, of course,

a much-cherished and valued British tradition wanging on about the weather.

Other much-cherished and valued British traditions seem to be falling apart before our very eyes,

don't they?

If I were to remind you that we still don't know who funded Boris Johnson's holiday to Mustique

16 months ago.

And another one from the archive that someone popped in front of me this morning was when

he used taxpayers' money to buy beds and various other pieces of furniture, because after the

collapse of his most recent marriage, he ended up moving into Downing Street without

a stick of his own furniture. Of course, the furniture that had remained in Downey Street from

Theresa May's tenure was deemed to be a little bit too common reportedly for the likes of his partner.

John Lewis being the, uh, the Bette Noir being the great story of today.

I love to see newspapers picking up where we left off yesterday.

And the idea that John Lewis is or is not posh continues to detain and entertain on a slightly incongruous level.

Grant Shaps today trying to persuade you that spending tons of money on buying things like

12 grand owl lanterns and 850 quid vases is all about protecting Downing Streets, what do you call

it? Interiors for posterity. So generations of the future, Grant Shaps would have you believe.
